How to use Product Configurator to manage Custom Furniture Requests?

Configure the Product:

Go to the Odoo CPQ Module and select the product you want to configure; in this case, we will select “Standing Desk”.

Let’s suppose, your sales rep has received the below product personalization request from the customer for the “Standing Desk” product:

• “Brown” Desk Top of size “42” X 27””, Frame Type of “T Frame” of color “White” with an adjustable height feature.

• The customer has also requested to add optional components- “Grommet” & “Casters” for the desk.
• The Grommet type as per the requirement should be set to “Storage” type in “White” color.
• For Casters, the customer wants to have the “Heavy Duty” type in “White” color.

Note: You can also set cross-component rules to avoid product configuration not possible for the production team. For example, for standing desk without adjustable frame height can’t be combined with heavy-duty casters.

Accurate Pricing Calculation:

• As you are customizing a product with the Desk Configurator, you and your customer will be able to view the price change dynamically.
• Once the product configuration as above is finalized, you will be able to give a final price for the configured product to your customer.
• Below the final price, you will also be able to verify the customization details and cross-check the same with your customer for transparent quote generation.

Generate Accurate Quotation

• Once you have verified the product configuration and pricing with the customer, proceed to convert the configuration to the final quote.
• Upon clicking on “Confirm and Add to Cart”, the “Send Quotation” button will be enabled.

Manufacturing Order with Bill of Materials

Upon the sales order confirmation, a Manufacturing Order will be created with the selected components for streamlined production process.
